A couple decades ago, as I was walking out of my doctor’s office his last comment was, “Everything’s important and nothing’s important.” Way to drop a deep one on the way out the door! I was all-in-devoted to figuring out how to heal a chronic mysterious disease. So, our conversations were often as much or more philosophical and metaphysical as about the physical. I knew I was in the midst of a life transformation that was way more than skin, bone, and blood deep and followed the symptoms like breadcrumbs to my freedom.

The reverberations of that pivotal moment still ripple outward, as in that moment I swung the door open out of his office with his voice in my ear and into a new way of life. It was a new concept for me at the time and a way of life now, perhaps even more relevant with the current chaos in our world.

Likewise, it’s all real and nothing is real.

Quantum science bridges the worlds of the physical and nonphysical, the mystical and material, giving us its own mystical language of who we are as creators. We’re not separate from the reality we are participating in, but unfolding it each moment with our perceptions, patterns, words, wounds, thoughts, analysis, attitudes, neural pathways, emotions, feelings, intuition, connectedness, disconnect, healing, acceptance, resistance, knowledge, intention, surrender, choices …

Though some refer to this physical world as “illusion,” because it is 99.99999…% space., the word never resonated with me. It feels somehow like a diminishment of the wonder, power, and miracle of this life and this world. Physical and non-physical are all the same stuff vibrating at different frequencies, equally important when we see it all from the bigger picture, when we learn to “play well.”

Playing well, then, or being conscious, is learning to walk in both worlds only to realize … they are one. Form and non-form are the same thing brilliantly disguised as you and me, trees, tractors, countries, planets, money, perspectives, disease, vibrancy, wind, and coffee — all energy, consciousness, divinity within us and something much greater all around us — and our bodies are the vehicles, also conscious, that carry us through — the divine expressing itself as only you can, as only I can.

And that’s the point. Whether you see it as an illusion or that it’s all real/not real, we are participating in and creating with this cosmos what is and what can be at the same time. We are the observers and the reality at the same time. We are the cause and the new creation.

“The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that /
you want, you already are.” ~ Rumi

“Love is the bridge between you and everything.” ~ Rumi

“You must learn one thing. The world was made to be free in. Give up all the other worlds accept the one to which you belong.” ~ David Whyte

What we change in ourselves at this level, we change around us and, in the universe, at large.

Play well.
